Northern Lights Living exists to make in-home support feel clear, respectful, and human. We help older adults and adults with disabilities live life their way at home and in the community they love, supported by care that’s built around real routines, real preferences, and real life.

A lot of families with caregiving responsibilities tell us their nervous system is sort of always on alarm, like being on a high dose of caffeine. Listening for a fall. Listening for their breathing. Wondering, “Should I call them?” or “Should I stop by?”

We believe there is another way through support that protects independence and gives families their relationship back.

Our Story

Founder Stephanie Alexander has been in social services for 25 years. Stephanie has worked as a PCA, managed group homes, served as a case manager and quality assurance manager, and managed waiver services in aging and disability services for a county. For years, Stephanie was helping families find services and get the quality of care they needed.

Then, two years ago, Stephanie’s cousin moved in. Even knowing the system, it was hard. It was so hard. That experience brought everything into focus. Stephanie now comes from experience on both sides of the table. That is why Northern Lights Living exists.

That experience shaped our promise to you: You don’t have to navigate this alone.

We chose our name because the northern lights guide people through darkness with beauty and steadiness. That’s how we approach care. As a reliable source of support and clarity when decisions feel heavy.

We do not believe in rushing or confusing people. We do not hide behind corporate language. Care should feel welcoming and low-pressure. You do not need to be “ready” for care to get information and talk through options.
