Transparent and Simple Pricing

We believe families should be able to budget predictably on a monthly basis. Our private-pay rate is $43/hour, no matter the service, time of day, or level of support needed.

Transportation is provided at $1.25/mile. Miles are calculated from the caregiver’s point of departure to destination and return.

We do ask for a four-hour minimum per visit—because quality care takes a little time, and so does building trust. If you book 10 or more hours of service per week, the four-hour minimum may be waived.

How We Approach Care Differently

We're not here to change everything about the way you live. We're here to meet you where you're at and build care around the life you actually want to live.

Northern Lights Living Founder Stephanie Alexander has spent 25 years in social services, and since 2024 she's become a hands-on family caregiver herself to her cousin Shelley. She knows this work from both sides of the table.

Here's what you can expect from our services:

We Schedule Around You, Not the Other Way Around

Good care is seamless. It builds around your routines, your preferences, your goals, and helps you feel more in control, not less. Too many agencies offer a worker when it's convenient for them. We do it differently: if you need care Monday through Friday from 1 to 3 PM, that's what we make happen. Your schedule is not negotiable to us.

Bringing in a caregiver doesn't mean giving up independence. It often means protecting it. Without support, staying home becomes harder. With the right care, you stay exactly where you want to be.

We Match Caregivers Who Are the Right Fit

We match caregivers based on personality and compatibility, not just availability. Long-term relationships matter: consistent, trusted caregivers provide better care. If a match doesn't feel right, we find a better one.

We also believe in paying caregivers fairly. When caregivers are valued and supported, your loved one gets better care. That's not a coincidence. It's how we operate.

Families Stay in the Loop

There's a constant weight that comes with being a long-distance family member or responsible caregiver for a loved one: Did they eat today? Are they okay?

We help lighten that load.

Our staff members offer updates for those who want to stay connected: photos, videos, and written notes sent directly to family members during visits. Your dog's daycare does it. Your kids' preschool did it. Your loved one's caregiver should too. At least, we think so, and it's included in our core services.

3.
Care That Gives Your Relationship Back

When families handle all the caregiving themselves, visits become task lists. Showers, dishes, garbage runs, medication checks, and then it's time to go. Everyone is exhausted, and the relationship suffers.

When professional care is in place, families get to just show up. Mom-and-kid time. Partner time. That's what we're here to protect. In our approach to caregiving, we believe in the dignity of risk: your loved one has the right to make their own choices, and we will always choose safety with someone, not to them.
